Wasteland #14

When offered a chance to illustrate a one page story for Antony Johnston’s Wasteland, I was thrilled! This was a genre of comics I hadn’t much experience with and it was great fun playing with this futuristic western. The guts of the story is told as a flashback and so I decided to tell those pages using a panelless format. I already feel that comics’ fusion of word and image is a very appropros medium for depicting memory so I went with no panels to reflect the bleed of one image into another akin to reminiscence. This story’s critical stance on organized religion also appealed to me. Here are a selection of my favorite pages. Enjoy!
