Like the man says, it’s time. Over the last while I’ve been working on my next book project for First Second called Marathon. The book, written by Boaz Yakin tells the story of the first Persian invasion of Greece at Marathon in 490BC. It’s a sweeping action epic focusing on Eucles, the messenger whose run from Athens to Sparta to Marathon and back to Athens again is instrumental in the shaping of Western civilization.
Pictured above is General Miltiades, the Athenian military genius famous for this historic tactical victory over the Persian invading force.
The book is scheduled for release the summer 2012.
I’m happy to say that all the interior pages for Mush! Sled Dogs with Issues are done! Now it’s just a matter of prepping the files for print and finishing a cover! Please note that the title design above is not final and will likely change. Thanks for reading!
Mush! Sled Dogs with Issues just crossed another important landmark. All the pages are now colored and I’m moving onto the final stage, sound effects! Stay tooned for more previews!

Let it be known that the book project formerly known as “Sled Dogs with Issues” is now officially called “MUSH! Sled Dogs with Issues!”
As you were…

2009 was a great year for me and a big part of that has been working on “Sled Dogs with Issues” with Glenn Eichler and the First Second crew. As a small token of my gratitude I whipped up some colored ink drawings of the characters as ‘Thank You’ cards. Above is the card of the character, Winston. You’ll just have to read the book to learn more about him!

The Sled Dog project crossed a minor landmark this week by coloring the 60th page! That’s half the book colored! To mark the occasion, I’ve posted up the finished 60th page. Oh, I guess I never mentioned this, but this book is a thinly veiled self-help guide on how to talk to females. Alas, I’ve got so much to learn.
